The 3rd On-Site Edition of the BioMedAI Summer School is set to take place from May 26–28, 2025, in Lyon, France. This event, co-organized by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), is expected to welcome up to 50 researchers, healthcare professionals, legal experts, and policymakers. This event is to collaborate and produce an open-access publication that captures the key insights and research shared during the conference.
Scientists and professionals from Life Sciences, Information Technology & AI, and Ethics and Law can register to attend this life-changing event. The registration deadline is set for March 21, 2025. Selection will be based on the applicant's curriculum vitae and a 200-word statement outlining how they would benefit from attending the event. Participation in the BioMed-AI Summer School is free of charge. However, participants are responsible for arranging their travel and accommodation.
They are also required to bring their laptops for the interactive sessions. The event will focus on the intersection of biomedical research, artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, and the ethical issues surrounding these fields. It promises to be an exciting gathering of experts, innovators, and thought leaders, offering a unique opportunity to delve into the future of healthcare. Participants will have the chance to explore cutting-edge innovations, engage in discussions, and network with some of the brightest minds in the field.
Following the event, an open-access publication will be released, summarizing the key insights and research shared throughout the conference. The World Health Organization (WHO) will cover all publication fees, ensuring that this valuable resource is available to the public free of charge. This publication is expected to provide actionable knowledge and thought-provoking ideas, making it an essential resource for healthcare professionals, researchers, and those interested in the future of healthcare.
Additionally, all conference materials, including those from this year and previous editions since 2023, will be archived and made accessible on the event’s YouTube channel for registered participants. This will allow attendees to revisit presentations, workshops, and discussions at their convenience, providing an easy way to stay updated on the latest developments in digital health, AI, and biomedical research.
