Join the Climate Conversation: Apply Now for British Council’s Sustainability Grants in the Arts

New Grant Scheme Encourages Innovative Solutions to the Climate Crisis

The new initiative of the British Council “Climate Futures South Asia” aims to advance sustainable practices in India's creative and artistic industries. To encourage artists' and cultural groups' work, the program distributes grants totaling £15,000. This program encourages innovative teamwork to address the climate emergency using cutting-edge initiatives and methodologies.

The British Council will provide several information sessions to help prospective applicants. These workshops aim to support candidates by guiding them through the application process and providing advice on how to increase their chances of receiving funding. The sessions are set for October 8 and October 22 at 10 AM GMT. The new grant scheme will support a variety of projects that focus on several key areas. It seeks to curate artistic experiences that raise awareness about the climate crisis, develop and implement decarbonization strategies for arts and cultural organizations, and establish processes to track and reduce carbon emissions and waste. Additionally, the scheme emphasizes optimizing infrastructure to enhance climate change awareness within the arts and creative industries.

Applications for the program are now open, and interested candidates can register until November 25 at bit.ly/CF_Apply now. Successful applicants will have the chance to significantly influence the global climate conversation by integrating sustainability into their artistic practices and fostering international collaboration.
