Delhi University's Drama Clubs Revive Tradition with Handwritten Invitations, Adding Personal Touch to Theatre Events

Students Opt for Handwritten Invitations Over Digital, Adding Personal Touch to Festivities

Drama Club students from Delhi University went vintage by making customized, handwritten invitations like good old times and hand delivering them instead of using social media platforms to invite audiences. It provided a personal touch to the occasion and showed their dedication towards making the project a success.

Kartik Mittal, a final-year student from Maharaja Agrasen College’s drama society, and Abhinay, said that they wanted everyone to feel welcomed, so they opted for handwritten invites instead of traditional posts on social media. With the invites, they also gave baskets with treats and hand-painted items for each society that they were invited.

Members of Memesis, Daulat Ram College’s theatre society, also did the same thing by going to different colleges to personally invite them and their invitations were drawn on similar lines but made out of old papers to give it the worn out, rustic look, adding to the experience.

This idea wasn’t just about moving away from digital invites but also about feeling nostalgic and a personal touch. Chinmay Juyal, a final-year student from Hindu College’s drama society, and Ibtida, stated that these invites will be core memories, especially for seniors bidding farewell to their college theatre days.

Editor’s note:

College experiences always hold a special place in everyone’s hearts and by creating physical invites they could take a piece of their college memories as physical copies with them that could be cherished later. Skoobuzz encourages such creative approaches especially during time where trends are followed by everyone consuming mainstream media.
