Delhi University Enhances Employability with New Placement and Internship Initiative

DU Students to Benefit from Comprehensive Placement and Internship Support

Upon completing their degrees, thousands of students, often struggle to identify suitable career options. With proper guidance, many end up in unrelated jobs, leading to dissatisfaction. To address this issue, the University of Delhi has proactively offered placement assistance, career counseling, and logistical support to bridge the gap between academia and industry. According to a report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), internships play a pivotal role in securing employment post-graduation, with 56.1% of students who completed internships receiving at least one job offer.

DU has announced the opening of applications for its placement and internship drive. Organized by the Central Placement Cell (CPC) under the Dean of Students' Welfare, the event will occur on December 4 and 5. According to the university, all bonafide, regular students enrolled in DU undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses can register for the placement and internship drive.

Students who register with the Central Placement Cell (CPC) will receive placement assistance, career counseling, and guidance for employment, and self- and social entrepreneurship. The CPC will also provide logistical support to visiting companies throughout the placement process, ensuring access to university infrastructure. Moreover, the placement cell will be an intermediary between the industry and students, helping them explore and select from various career options.

Additionally, the CPC facilitates the selection process for companies based on their specific requirements and collaborates with corporate organizations to offer suitable job and internship opportunities for candidates graduating from the University of Delhi. Overall, the University of Delhi's placement and internship drive streamlines student’s transition from academia to the workforce.
