On April 23, 2025, The Economic Times announced the much-anticipated 2nd Annual Education Summit, scheduled to take place on June 19–20, 2025. Following the success of its inaugural edition, this year's summit is expected to be even more impactful, bringing together a distinguished group of educational leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and innovators. The event explores the ongoing transformation of India's education sector and fosters collaborative dialogue on emerging technologies.
This year, the summit will centre around the theme “Fuelling the Education Economy with AI: The India Story.” Participants will examine the growing role of artificial intelligence in reshaping India’s education system and driving economic growth. Discussions will highlight how AI-driven innovations in teaching, skilling, administration, and assessment are enhancing efficiency, inclusion, and scalability. Additionally, the focus will remain on preparing a future-ready workforce, boosting national productivity, and supporting sustainable development in the education economy.
In alignment with India’s digital infrastructure and NEP 2020 goals, the summit will address crucial topics such as enhancing access to quality education, reducing regional disparities, enabling personalised learning, and driving socio-economic progress. Recognising the pivotal moment for AI in global education, the summit will feature two focused tracks—Higher Education and School Education— to address the unique challenges and opportunities within each sector. The Higher Education track will delve into areas such as AI-driven skills development, curriculum design, employability enhancement, pedagogy advancements, and institutional reform. Meanwhile, the School Education track will focus on literacy, AI integration in classrooms, inclusive learning, teacher training, and the effective implementation of NEP 2020 policies.
Over 1,500 delegates are expected to attend, including academic leaders, EdTech innovators, policymakers, and global experts. The event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, roundtables, and an AI Innovation Expo, which will showcase cutting-edge solutions in education technology. Among the notable attendees are Prof. Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Prof. TG Sitharam, and Anil Sahasrabudhe, alongside global figures like Dr. Liisa Toivonen, Counsellor of Science and Higher Education at the Finnish Embassy, and Dr. Lily Bi, President and CEO of AACSB International.
The Higher Education track will include prominent Indian academic leaders such as Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, and Dr. Rajul K. Gajjar. Directors from leading management and technology institutions, including Prof. Bharat Bhaskar (IIM Ahmedabad), Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani (IIM Raipur), Manoj Singh Gaur (IIT Jammu), Prof. Laxmidhar Behera (IIT Mandi), and Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao (BITS Pilani), will also contribute valuable insights. Private universities will have a strong presence at the summit, with participation from leaders such as Dr. Tristha Ramamurthy (CMR University), Lakshmi Narayanan (KREA University), Rajita Kulkarni (Sri Sri University), Sanya Bhalla (Manav Rachna University), and Githa Heggde (MICA), among others. The School Education track is expected to bring together grassroots voices shaping learning across India. Speakers such as Minal Desai (Director, GEMS Genesis International School), Abha Meghe (CEO, Meghe Group of Schools), Deepali Upadhyay (Program Lead, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog), and Jaina Desai (Trustee, Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir) will focus on inclusive practices and emerging trends in education. Notable educators like Shantanu Prakash (The Millennium Schools), Jacob Thomas (Good Shepherd International School), and Praveen Raju Kalidindi (Suchitra Academy) will share insights on innovation and effective leadership.
Keynote addresses, fireside chats, and roundtable discussions will form an integral part of the summit, along with an Innovation Pavilion showcasing AI’s applications in education.
