UEA Introduces Comprehensive AI Master's Program for Aspiring Professionals

Universities worldwide are launching AI courses to meet the rising demand for AI skills across industries. The global AI market is expected to reach $1.8 trillion by 2030, driven by advancements in machine learning, robotics, and big data. The World Economic Forum predicts 170 million new AI and machine learning jobs by 2030, though 92 million existing jobs may be displaced, leading to a net increase of 78 million jobs. The University of East Anglia in the UK has launched a new MSc in Artificial Intelligence for 2025, offering flexible study options. Students can complete the course full-time in 12 months or part-time over 24 to 36 months. The program includes compulsory modules in professional skills, advanced AI, and a dissertation, along with around 10 optional modules covering various AI applications.

Assessments for the MSc in AI are mainly based on coursework, with some modules involving lab tests or exams. Most modules are assessed through two coursework assignments with varying weights to develop real-world problem-solving skills. The fee is £11,775 for UK students and £24,500 for international students. Part-time students pay half the annual fee or a pro-rata amount based on module credit (available only to UK students). Estimated living expenses are £1,136 per month.

The MSc in Artificial Intelligence is open to UK and international fee-paying students. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree (UK’s 2.2 or equivalent) in any discipline and some programming experience, preferably in Python. The university recommends learning Python basics through online resources if needed. International applicants from non-English-speaking countries must provide IELTS scores with a minimum of 6.0 overall, including 6.0 in Speaking and Writing, and 5.5 in Reading and Listening.

The global emphasis on AI education underscores its importance in shaping future industries and careers. The University of East Anglia's new MSc in AI provides a timely and flexible opportunity for aspiring AI professionals to gain advanced skills and contribute to this transformative field.
