IIM-B and Florintree Advisors Unveil Major Initiative in Private Equity and Venture Capital
Aug 26, 2024 |
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) has collaborated with Florintree Advisors Private Limited to develop the Tony James Center for Private Equity and Venture Capital. This Global Centre aims to develop a collaborative environment in which academics, practitioners, and regulators can work together to develop talents in private equity and venture capital.
This innovative center will serve as a hub for research, teaching, and industry engagement in the PEVC sector. Through this initiative, students will get an opportunity to interact with industry leaders, receive practical knowledge, and be upskilled with the newest trends in the sector. The center will organize annual expert lectures, research critical industry challenges as well as foster academic-business collaborations.
During the MoU exchange, Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director of IIM Bangalore, stated that this was the largest contribution ever received from an alumnus. He conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Mathew, recognizing not only the size of his contribution but also his thoughtfulness in naming four classrooms after the instructors who had taught his batch, as well as his transparency in establishing scholarships for PGP and PhD students focusing on finance is also appreciable.
Editor's Note:
To develop financial literacy and business skills the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore recently created a Center of Excellence for Private Equity and Venture Capital. This effort, made possible by a significant investment from an alumnus Mathew, and a partnership with Florintree Advisors Private Limited, aims to build a strong environment in which academia, industry practitioners, and regulatory agencies may collaborate. The Centre is intended to stimulate talent development, advance cutting-edge research, and improve practical insights in the PE and VC sectors.
Skoobuzz hopes that the efforts of IIM-B to expand financial competence and close the gap between academic understanding and practical implementation will benefit the students.
