IIM Jammu Hosts Leadership Program for J&K College Principals on NEP 2020 Implementation

Striving for Educational Excellence in Jammu and Kashmir

A training program called the ‘Education Leadership Development Training Program' for college principals of Jammu and Kashmir was held by The Indian Institute (IIM), Jammu, which was held with the third batch of the program at the Srinagar campus of the institute, running until March 15th.

This program was aimed at helping principals and colleges to stay up to date with the latest teaching techniques and methods, aimed at further helping them improve their leadership skills, communication abilities, cultural understanding, innovation, and decision-making abilities based on data, covering the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and how colleges should implement it. 

BS Sahay, director of IIM, Jammu highlighted the importance of this program and how it will help colleges to improve their education quality and innovation. He stated that principals should motivate their students to take competitive exams like NEET, GATE, JEE, and CAT. Adding further he also suggested that the principals should participate in NIRF Rankings and collaborate on research programs with IIM Jammu.

The chairperson and the Dean of academics of IIM, Jammu both emphasised collaboration and innovation for improving the education system of India which will steer its growth exponentially.
