Velammal MHS School Dominates Day 3 as Tournament Nears Final Stage

The World Schools Team Chess Championship annually brings together talented young players from around the world. This prestigious event showcases strategic depth, promotes international camaraderie and cultural exchange, and rigorously tests skill and endurance, reflecting the rising standard of youth chess. On Day 3, the tournament witnessed a new level of intensity as two critical rounds unfolded. As the competition progressed, top-ranked teams began clashing directly, while several lower-seeded teams continued to defy expectations with strong performances. By the close of the day, India’s Velammal MHS School had successfully maintained their lead, reinforcing its position at the top of the standings as the championship moved closer to its concluding phase.

In Round 5, the spotlight was on the top board, where the first and second seeds met. Kazakhstan’s National School of Physics and Mathematics played against Velammal MHS School in a closely watched match.
