NZIST Scholarships for 2025: A Golden Opportunity for Indian Students in Science and Technology

An incredible opportunity for Indian students to excel in the field of Science and Technology has risen as Te Pūkenga, New Zealand's Institute of Skills and Technology (NIST), has launched an initiative offering over NZ$200,000 in scholarships for Indian students seeking higher education in science and technology in New Zealand. This new program aims to support and encourage talented students from India to advance their studies in these fields at New Zealand's leading tertiary education provider.

New Zealand High Commission, New Delhi announced that scholarships are available for Indian students, planning to enroll in their first year of full-time programs in New Zealand for 2025.

Students must visit the official website https://tepukenga.ac.nz/scholarship/ for information on eligibility criteria, available programs, and the institutes, as scholarships are now open for application.

Selected students can study at New Zealand’s esteemed educational institutions, known for their career-focused applied learning. These institutions offer connections to industry and local communities, providing real-world learning experiences, smaller class sizes for enhanced discussion and exploration, and dedicated learner support.

Ziena Jalil, Chief of Staff at Te Pūkenga, NZIST, stated that Science and technology play a pivotal role in this rapidly changing world, so it is crucial to cultivate more expertise in these vital areas. These scholarships are designed to help Indian students gain access to globally recognized qualifications that are grounded in industry best practices, in fields where there is a high demand for talent.

The scholarships align with India’s National Education Policy (NEP), which aims to prepare students with the skills needed for successful global careers. The scholarships cover a range of eligible programs, including agri-technology, applied health sciences, aquaculture, architecture, biotechnology, construction, computing systems, digital technology, various engineering specializations, food technology, information technology, marine conservation, nursing, quantity surveying, veterinary nursing, and viticulture.

According to Jalil, New Zealand is globally recognized for its creativity, innovation, and technological advancement. She emphasized that the country’s education system is crucial in supporting a robust economy, noting that India also sees education as a key driver of economic progress. Indian students constitute the largest group of international students at NZIST and contribute significantly to the diversity across its more than 80 campuses nationwide.
