Sathyabama Collaborates with MIT Square for Groundbreaking Indo-Malaysia Internship Program

Sathyabama Institute Students Complete First Phase of Prestigious Indo-Malaysia Internship

The undergraduate students from the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai, had the opportunity to participate in the Indo-Malaysia Winter Internship 2024. This three-month internship program, organized by MIT Square, London, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as part of the Student Abroad Programme (SAP), is running from October to December 2024. The program is designed to provide practical exposure and international experience, offering students a unique opportunity to work on real-world projects and engage with industry leaders.

Dr. Vigneshwari S (HoD), Dr. Sonia Jenifer Rayen, Dr. Kiruthika Devi B S, Ms. Scinthia Clarinda, Ms. Kavitha Duraipandian, and Ms. Shiela David from Sathyabama played a key role in organizing the program through their collaboration with MIT Square, London. The participating students began their three-phase internship by visiting the University of Cyberjaya in Malaysia for one week in October. During this visit, they immersed themselves in Malaysia’s dynamic research and innovation environment. Exposure to the Malaysian academic and professional landscape allowed the students to gain hands-on experience in advanced fields related to their specializations, particularly in AI, AIML, and Data Science (DS).

The students also had the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge healthcare projects, which helped foster creativity and critical thinking. The experience aimed to equip students with the skills needed to address real-world challenges through innovation. All 27 participants were awarded certificates for completing the first phase of the internship, which highlighted their commitment to their fields and the valuable opportunities provided through the Student Abroad Programme. The remaining two phases of the internship will be completed in India.

Tejakarthik, Nisanth J, Mubasser, Aswin S P, Thennarasu, Jasmine J, Charujayyasre V M, S Sahaya Sherin, Harismitha, Abhilasha Modak, H Hadlins Price, Ranusha Ramesh, Ramani Jayashree G, Shreemaan P, Deepan S V, and Avinash.

Dr. Mithileysh Sathiyanarayanan, Scientist & CEO at MIT Square, expressed his excitement about the program. He noted that the goal of the internship was to nurture the next generation of innovators by providing them with a platform to experiment, learn, and grow. He praised the students from Sathyabama University for demonstrating exceptional skills and added that MIT Square was delighted to support them on their journey to becoming global tech leaders.

The internship program, a collaboration between Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology and MIT Square, is set to continue, offering more students the opportunity to gain valuable international exposure and become pioneers in their respective fields. This initiative underscores the importance of international internships in shaping students’ careers, enhancing their skills, and equipping them to meet the dynamic demands of a globalized workforce.
