Indiana State University Celebrates $100 Million Achievement in Be So BOLD Campaign

Indiana State University’s Fundraising Milestone Highlights Community and Donor Support

Indiana State University reached new heights with exceeding fundraising of  $20 million for the fiscal year 2024 as declared by the division of the university advancement department. With this achievement, the university was able to surpass the $100 million target set for the ‘Be So BOLD’ campaign. Launched in September 2022, the campaign aimed to raise $100 million by June 2025 to enhance university programs and prepare students for industry leadership. Remarkably, the campaign surpassed its goal over a year ahead of schedule, gaining significant support both locally and nationally.

Vice President of University Advancement and CEO of the ISU Foundation Andrea Angel expressed sincere gratitude for the generosity of the contributors who make it possible to create additional possibilities for teachers and students and further increase the excellence of the university.

Indiana State University President Mike Godard thanked donors as their contribution would have a big influence on important areas like Sycamore Athletics, teacher quality, experiential learning, and student scholarships. He also praised the University Advancement team for their outstanding work in raising more than $20 million for four years running, which enabled them to exceed the $100 million objective of the campaign earlier than expected. The campaign was supported by 6,700 members and 1,224 members of the President’s Society, each contributing  $1,000 at least; among these donors, 1,472 made their first contribution to the university, 2620 were from Wabash Valley while the local community contributed  $2.4 million.

In addition to these contributions, 21 new endowed funds were established, and $5.4 million was raised for the university’s endowment. In total, the University received 13,452 gifts from generous donors both nationally and globally. Sam Shanks, chair of the University Foundation Board of Directors and '85 alumnus, acknowledged that achieving the $100 million goal is made possible by the support of donors, the community, and the dedicated team at the Foundation. He congratulated everyone involved for their crucial role in advancing the campaign and their ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of philanthropy at the university.
