Historic Move: Kerala to Host Inaugural School Olympics in Kochi with 41 Sports Events

Kerala is going to take a big step forward and make the first-ever adaptation of an Olympic-style structure for its school sports tournaments. The "Kerala School Olympics Kochi 24" will take place in Kochi from November 4–11, ushering in a major change in the state's administration and celebration of school sports according to Minister for General Education V.Sivankutty’s statement on 26 July. There will be 41 sporting activities, which will be held akin to the Olympics, with 24,000 competitors competing in the under-14, under-17, and under-19 divisions for the prizes. This may end up becoming the largest sporting event for teenagers in the world. A special assembly will be held in schools to raise students' awareness of the Olympic spirit on 27 July. As, the Minister for General Education announced  this will be the first-ever inclusive sports meet in India.

The school youth festival for this year will take place in Thiruvananthapuram's Putharikandam Ground from December 3 to 7 and will have 24 venues for the events. Literary festivals in Arabic and Sanskrit will also take place concurrently. About 14,000 students will take part in 240 events, some of which will involve historical art forms that are no longer well known. In conclusion, we can say that school sports competitions, implementing an Olympic-style framework can have a significant positive impact on kids' sporting experience.
