In this fast-paced world, students have to meet the demands of comprehensive education and versatile skill sets, for this Delhi University has come up with a dual degree program, a revolutionary approach to academic pursuit that facilitates the students to earn two degrees simultaneously. According to this new initiative, eligible students can enroll in one degree through regular mode at any college or department in DU. At the same time, they can pursue a second degree in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode offered by the School of Open Learning as per the resolutions passed by the Academic Council and the Executive Council.

The university also outlined key terms and conditions that candidates should consider when opting for the dual degree program: Students currently enrolled or in the process of enrolling in a degree program need to inform the university through the Head of their Department or the Principal of their College if they wish to pursue two academic degrees. They are not allowed to pursue two similar programs simultaneously, such as B.Com (Hons.) and B.Com (Pass), even if one is in ODL mode. Additionally, those who are granted permission to pursue both degrees must independently meet all academic requirements, including attendance, assessments, assignments, presentations, exams, and promotion criteria for both programs.

To prevent the duplication of mandatory courses, students are required to take the compulsory courses for the first program they enroll in (whether regular or ODL) and then substitute courses for the second program with suitable alternatives. Students will not be allowed to combine credits from two separate degree programs to achieve a major or minor in any discipline.
