Ayurveda Education and Healthcare Expand to California with New KLE Society MoU.

KLE Society’s Ayurveda College and Southern California University Collaborate

KAHER's Shri BMK Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Post Graduate Studies and Research Centre in Shahapur, Belagavi, has been actively involved in international collaborations through the Department of Overseas Activity since 2012. Honorable Chancellor Dr. Prabhakar Kore's imaginative leadership has helped KLE gain a major international reputation. The institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Southern California University of Health Sciences, CA, USA, on September 5, 2024, expanding its global scope and promoting global academics with scientific cooperation.

The MoU exchange event was attended by Dr. Anupama Kizhakkeveettil, Program Director of Ayurveda Medicine at Southern California University, CA, USA, and key representatives from KAHER, including Dr. Nitin M. Gangane, Vice-Chancellor; Dr. M.S. Ganachari, Registrar; Dr. Suhas Kumar Shetty, Principal; Dr. Shrutika Karoshi, MoU Coordinator; Dr. Swarda R. Uppin, Coordinator of Overseas Activity; and Dr. Adeeb A, Coordinator of Overseas Activity at KAHER’s Shri BMK Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Belagavi, India. Dr. Anupama, a Professor, Researcher, and Practitioner in Ayurveda, Yoga, and Acupuncture, noted the growing interest in traditional medicine in the West.

The goal of the partnership between Southern California University and KLE Ayurveda is to improve Ayurvedic services for California healthcare practitioners and consumers. Dr.Gangane appreciated KLE Ayurveda for its international recognition and noteworthy accomplishments in research, academia, and healthcare through several international partnerships. He emphasized the institution's longstanding history as one of the most venerable and oldest in the nation. The Memorandum of Understanding will enable healthcare services, research opportunities, and student and teacher exchange programs, thereby broadening the scope of Ayurvedic teaching and treatment in California. The effort was praised by Hon. Chancellor Dr. Kore, who highlighted its potential to enhance Ayurveda's influence and visibility in the field of world health.
