Highlighting Innovation and Excellence in Cybersecurity Education and Research KU Conference held on May 10, 2024

KUSCON 2024 Showcases Korea University's Leadership in Information Security

KU Security Conference (KUSCON 2024) was recently organised by the Graduate School of Information Security at Korea University, a leading educational and research organisation that specialises in information security at Korea University. This inaugural event was attended by the Dean of the Graduate School of Information Security, professors, students, and officials from public and private sectors. 

KUSCON 2024 included seven events: the KU Cyber Defense Workshop, KU Security Technology Seminar, Graduate School of Information Security Technology Presentation, Graduate School of Information Security Outstanding Paper Presentation, KU Security Academic Award Ceremony, KU Security Innovation 2030 Vision Declaration Ceremony, and KU Security Joint Appreciation Event. The conference also featured workshops, seminars, technology displays, paper presentations, award ceremonies, innovation declarations, great papers, and hacking demonstrations by students, graduates, and military professionals.

The KU Security Academic Award Ceremony recognized exceptional papers, innovations, and posters selected by event attendees and the KU Security Innovation 2030 Vision Declaration Ceremony identified key innovation tasks and relationships, with PwC Consulting serving as the first KU Security partner business. The event ended with a collaborative appreciation gathering hosted by students from several disciplines. 

The importance of the event, as said by Dean Kwon Hun-Yeong, was to highlight Korea University's Graduate School of Information Security as a leading centre for cybersecurity research and education. With intentions to host KUSCON every year and implement the ideas described by 2030 which includes a plan to build KU Security as a global leader.

The Graduate School of Information Security at Korea University hosted the first-ever KU Security Conference (KUSCON 2024), which was a major turning point for cybersecurity research and education. Key players in the field—from academia to business to government—came together for the celebration of innovation and excellence.
