On 3rd September, a significant educational event was organized in the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi where officials from CBSE Regional Office and Center of Excellence in Dubai met with principals and heads of CBSE-affiliated schools around the UAE. This interactive event marked the presence of representatives from 28 schools which laid the foundation of strengthening ties between the Indian education board and its international community.
On February 13, 2024, the Indian Prime Minister announced the creation of the CBSE Regional Office and Center of Excellence in Dubai while on a visit to the country. On July 2, 2024, the office at the Consulate General of India formally opened in Dubai, UAE. This event represents a significant step forward in the UAE's efforts to provide teachers and students with better tools and support as emphasized by India's ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir. He commended the UAE's ongoing support of the Indian educational community and notified the significance of such initiatives in strengthening educational ties between both countries.
Dr. Ram Shankar, the Director of the CBSE Regional Office and Center of Excellence in Dubai provided the visitors an overview of the functions and objectives of the CBSE. He emphasized the commitment of the board to provide continuous professional growth of principals, educators, counselors, and special educators at connected schools, to contribute to the general improvement of the educational system, the Dubai office is concentrating on enhancing support and connection with regional schools.
Principals, heads of schools, and CBSE representatives had a fruitful discussion about a variety of educational concerns and potential collaborations as the session came to an end. This summit underscores the growing importance of Indian education on a worldwide scale and is a turning point in the CBSE's efforts to increase its influence. It is expected that the new CBSE office in Dubai will have a significant impact on how Indian curricula are taught in the UAE and the wider West Asia area as it expands its activities.
