“Sustainable Leadership Across Boundaries” Project Fosters Global Collaboration and Career Skills

Master’s Program Expands with Cross-Cultural Insights into Arctic Sustainability

The "Sustainable Leadership Across Boundaries" project unites Nord University Business School with East China Normal University and Indian Maritime University, strengthening existing ties and adding a new partner. Associate Professor Vivi Marie L. Storsletten highlighted that the collaboration will internationalize their master's program, offering students the opportunity to explore sustainable development in the Arctic context. She emphasized the importance of diverse perspectives in fostering cross-cultural understanding.

The project integrates into the Master of Science in Sustainable Leadership and Arctic Perspectives. Associate Professor Elena Dybtsyna stated that the initiative aims to build a foundation for ongoing education and research collaboration on sustainable leadership with Arctic perspectives. Students will gain practical skills and industry insights through hands-on projects, internships, and collaborative research, focusing on sustainable leadership, international governance, and responsible business. The project, running until December 2028, will involve student exchanges, faculty workshops, seminars, and staff mobility. Dybtsyna noted that it aims to promote sustained mobility between Norway, China, and India, allowing students to immerse themselves in diverse cultures while pursuing their studies.

The project seeks to foster an international learning environment where students collaborate across borders to address global challenges in the Arctic. Storsletten remarked that the grant highlights the success of their approach to international collaboration and the integration of diverse academic fields in the master's program. Ultimately, the "Sustainable Leadership Across Boundaries" project will enhance global collaboration and prepare students for leadership roles in addressing Arctic and global challenges.
