Patna Seminar Deliberates Green Chemistry's Role in Sustainable Development
Gathering of Academics and Chemists in Patna Facilitates Dialogue on Innovation and Environmental Conservation

Academics and chemists from various institutions across the country convened in Patna to delve into the recent advancements in green chemistry and its implications for sustainable development. Organized by the chemistry department of Magadh Mahila College (MMC) in collaboration with the Patna chapter of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), the inaugural session of the two-day national seminar served as a forum for the exchange of ideas and insights.
Principal Namita Kumar highlighted the seminar's objective of fostering dialogue among researchers, academicians, and students to explore the latest breakthroughs in green chemistry and their relevance to sustainable development. Over 200 students, along with 100 research scholars and faculty members representing diverse institutions, are actively participating in the seminar.
Subrata Das, from the chemistry department of NIT Patna, delivered a lecture on the "Technological Aspects of Visible Light-Driven Organic Transformation." His presentation covered various aspects including photochemical reactors, their frameworks, practices, limitations, potentials, and market demands.
Plenary lectures on the seminar's theme were delivered by Deewan Akram from the chemistry department of Munger University and Vikash Kumar from the zoology department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Patna. Amrita Prasad, the seminar convener, extended a warm welcome to all participants, while Sujata Kumari from the zoology department concluded the session with a vote of thanks.
