University of Pittsburgh: Championing Health, Technology, and the Arts

The University of Pittsburgh, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a research university with a history dating back to 1787. It offers diverse undergraduate and graduate programs across its 17 schools and colleges. Known for its research in health, technology, and the arts, the university boasts the iconic Cathedral of Learning and is closely affiliated with the renowned University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

From January 14 to 17, the University of Pittsburgh hosted the regional Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), showcasing the talents of collegiate theatrical productions. Moreover, Pitt Stages' production of “The Inseparables” was featured, a testament to its excellence in theatre. The KCACTF tours across the country to promote collegiate theatrical productions, provide professional workshops and celebrate student works. While hosting does not guarantee that the host school's production will be featured, the cast and crew of “The Inseparables” were selected to present their show, highlighting their exceptional performance.

In addition to the theatrical productions, the festival offered eight professional workshops led by experts from Pitt’s Department of Theatre Arts. Notable instructors included Kelly Trumbull, Jeremy Seghers, Howard Patterson, and Ricardo Vila-Roger, who shared their knowledge and expertise with the participants. This Festival showcased exceptional talent and provided valuable learning opportunities, further solidifying the university's commitment to the arts and creative excellence.
