Empowering Educators: AIC-PECF Introduces Innovative Teaching Methods for Senior Teachers

Puducherry's Government Schools Get Innovative Pedagogy Training for Senior Educators

To build a robust educational system, it is crucial to empower educators with modern teaching methods, as this will have a direct positive impact on the entire system by fostering a more engaged, creative, and capable student body. To achieve this, the Atal Incubation Centre - Pondicherry Engineering College Foundation (AIC-PECF) at Puducherry Technological University (PTU), in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education, has launched an initiative aimed at enhancing the teaching methods of senior educators in government schools.

AIC-PECF at PTU, in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education, organized a two-day workshop titled "Nurturing Innovation in Our Classrooms." The workshop aimed to introduce innovative teaching methods to senior teachers from 75 government schools across Puducherry, with a focus on fostering problem-solving skills. A total of 120 teachers were trained, and the workshop was live-streamed for participants from Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam. The event provided teachers with the opportunity to explore new tools and techniques to enhance their classroom teaching.

V.G. Sivagami, Joint Director of the Directorate of School Education, emphasized that the workshop marked an important step in empowering teachers with the tools needed to promote innovation in their classrooms. R. Sundaramurthy, Executive Director of AIC-PECF and Dean of the Centre for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research at PTU, remarked that the workshop reflected the broader goal of building an educational ecosystem that encourages creativity and critical thinking.

V. Vishnu Varadan, CEO of AIC-PECF, shared that the program, which aimed to instill a culture of innovation across Puducherry’s classrooms, would involve continuous engagement with the school system. A. Senthil Kumaran, the co-founder of The Learners Confluence, led sessions on the importance of innovation in schools, frameworks for innovative teaching, problem identification, and definition, and facilitated hands-on group activities using live case studies. The initiative by AIC-PECF is making a significant impact on the quality of education in government schools by equipping educators with innovative teaching methods and new tools. This effort prepares students to meet future challenges and strengthens the education system's overall foundation.
