South Australian Education Gains Global Traction Through SACE International

Flexible Curriculum and Strong Outcomes Drive SACE International’s Global Appeal

SACE International has established itself as a prominent force in global pre-university education, distinguished by its consistent growth and international expansion. Between 2017 and 2025, the programme extended its reach beyond its initial presence in Malaysia, China and Vietnam to include new partner schools in Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Sri Lanka and Cambodia. It is now delivered in 27 accredited schools worldwide, supporting over 1,200 students and exemplifying its commitment to accessible, high-quality senior secondary education.

Students enrolled in SACE International follow the same curriculum as their South Australian peers, enhanced by the flexibility of both northern and southern hemisphere intake and assessment cycles. This adaptability has contributed to the programme’s broad appeal, with demand rising among schools seeking alignment with regional academic calendars. For instance, Haileybury Senior School Tianjin in China, operated by the Victoria-based Haileybury International, was recently accredited to offer the programme.

According to Michaela Bensley, Chief Executive of the SACE Board, the programme’s sustained growth reflects its attractiveness among international schools. She attributed its success to flexible academic pathways, a holistic model of assessment and a strong emphasis on preparing students for life beyond the classroom. These elements have resonated with both educators and learners across diverse regions.

Government officials have also recognised the programme’s growing impact. Joe Szakacs, South Australia’s Minister for Local Government and Minister for Trade and Investment, described education as a key export sector and noted that SACE International enhances global recognition of South Australia’s brand and values. Blair Boyer, the state’s Minister for Education, Training and Skills, further praised South Australia’s leadership in education, citing vocational pathways, STEM opportunities and strong foundational skills in literacy and numeracy as defining features.

Supporting this international momentum, data from the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) revealed that between 2018 and 2025, 1,120 SACE International graduates received undergraduate offers from leading South Australian institutions, including Flinders University, the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia. In recognition of its academic rigour and strategic global engagement, SACE International continues to build pathways that connect students worldwide with opportunities for higher education and lifelong success.

Editor’s Note:

SACE International’s growth over the past few years shows how strong education can build bridges between countries and open doors for young people. By reaching new regions and offering students the same opportunities as those in South Australia, this programme gives learners around the world a chance to achieve their goals, no matter where they live. SACE International distinguishes itself through its academic excellence and adaptability. Its flexible calendar options, catering to both northern and southern hemispheres, enable schools to align with local requirements while upholding global benchmarks. This equilibrium is a significant factor in the sustained trust that schools and families place in the program.

Skoobuzz believes that the impressive achievements of SACE International graduates, many of whom pursue higher education in South Australia, underscore the effectiveness of this educational pathway. In an era where international education can often feel unpredictable, SACE International provides stability, prospects, and a sense of belonging.
