Elevating Standards: UNC Charlotte’s Groundbreaking Study Receives International Recognition

Researchers from UNC Charlotte’s Organisational Science Program recently earned an international “Best Paper Award” from the journal Organisational Research Methods. This prestigious recognition highlights their efforts to enhance research methodologies in organizational scholarship.

This awarded study investigates how organizational scientists implement the methodological best practices they cite in their work. In academic research, these best practices refer to methods that consistently produce reliable results, including study design, data collection, and analysis.

Scott Tonidandel, director of the interdisciplinary Organizational Science Program and a management professor at the Belk College of Business, co-authored the paper with former Ph.D. students Liana M. Kreamer and Betsy H. Albritton, as well as Steven G. Rogelberg, Chancellor’s Professor and professor of organizational science, management, and psychological science. This research is significant because it improves the overall quality of science research. It ensures that when business professionals read organizational science articles, they can trust the findings because the methodologies were rigorously applied,” Tonidandel remarked.
