UPSC Adjusts Civil Services Exam Schedule: New Deadline February 18

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced an extension of the application registration date for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025. The new deadline for both the Civil Services (Preliminary)-2025 and Indian Forest Service (Preliminary)-2025 examinations is now set for February 18. The Civil Services Examination, conducted annually by the UPSC, is a three-stage process consisting of the preliminary exam, the mains exam, and an interview. It is used to select candidates for prestigious positions in services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.

Previously, the last date for online applications was February 11. Candidates are required to submit their applications through the official website, upsc.gov.in. While the UPSC notice did not specify the reasons for the extension, it might be technical issues faced by some applicants that led the Commission to extend the deadline. Additionally, a correction window will be open from February 19 to February 25, allowing candidates to make necessary adjustments to their applications. The Civil Services Preliminary Examination has been scheduled for May 25, with approximately 979 vacancies expected to be filled through the examination. Among these, 38 positions are reserved for candidates with benchmark disabilities.

This extension and the subsequent correction window provide candidates with an additional opportunity to ensure their applications are accurate and complete, enhancing their chances of securing a prestigious position in India's top civil services.
