CAT 2025 to Be Held in 170 Cities; Over 2.9 Lakh Aspirants Expected

CAT 2025 Under IIM Kozhikode’s Stewardship Promises Transparent Admission Cycle

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has officially taken charge of conducting the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025, one of India’s most prestigious entrance examinations for graduate management programs. As announced through national newspapers, the registration window for CAT 2025 will open on August 1, and the exam is scheduled to be held on Sunday, November 30. This annual test serves as a gateway to the elite IIMs and numerous other top-tier business schools across the country, attracting thousands of aspirants seeking to advance their careers in management and leadership. With IIM Kozhikode at the forefront, stakeholders anticipate a rigorous, transparent, and efficiently managed admission cycle that upholds the high standards synonymous with the CAT legacy.

The official CAT 2025 website is expected to go live soon at iimcat.ac.in, continuing the digital infrastructure used in previous years. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based format across three sessions, with detailed guidelines to be released on the website shortly. The registration fee has been set at ₹1,300 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, and ₹2,600 for all other applicants. As per the official schedule, registration will begin on 1 August at 10 AM and close on 13 September at 5 PM. Admit cards will be available from 5 November, and the results are tentatively scheduled for release in the first week of January 2026.

CAT 2025 will be conducted in approximately 170 cities, and applicants will be allowed to select up to five preferred test centres during registration. Candidates will need to upload several documents, including scanned copies of Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, graduation certificates or recent semester results (for final-year students), work experience certificates (if applicable), a valid photo ID, and category certificates. A passport-size photograph and digital signature are mandatory, and final-year students must also submit an institution-issued certificate confirming their academic status.

While CAT scores are a critical component of the admission process, they represent only one element of the overall selection criteria. Each participating institute will announce its evaluation stages and admission procedures following the release of CAT results. This multi-stage process ensures a holistic assessment of candidates beyond test performance alone. In the previous cycle (CAT 2024), administered by IIM Calcutta, 14 candidates achieved a perfect 100th percentile, with 13 from engineering backgrounds and only one woman among them. Of the 2.93 lakh test-takers, 1.07 lakh were women, 1.86 lakh were men, and five identified as transgender, reflecting a growing diversity in the applicant pool. With IIM Kozhikode leading CAT 2025, the upcoming cycle is poised to deliver a robust, inclusive, and strategically managed pathway for aspiring management professionals across India.
