The Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams are conducted as a part of a multi-tiered recruitment process used by various organizations and examination bodies in India, such as the Staff Selection Commission and CBSE to assess the qualifications and skills of candidates for multiple positions. The Tier 1 exam is a preliminary examination screening to filter out a large number of applicants It was completed successfully on August 3,10 and 11 and now the CBSE has announced that the Tier 2 recruitment examination, which will take place on November 10, 2024, candidates who have cleared Tier-1 exams are eligible for next round.
This Tier 2 exam will include positions such as Accounts Officer, Assistant Secretary (Academics/Training), Assistant Secretary (Skill Education), and Assistant Secretary (Administration).
- The exams for the Accounts Officer, Assistant Secretary (Academics/Training), and Assistant Secretary (Skill Education) will run from 9 AM to 12 noon.
- The Assistant Secretary (Administration) exam is scheduled for 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
CBSE has announced the reimbursement procedure for traveling expenses for candidates traveling from outside Delhi. For the Tier-1 exam, candidates can claim the Sleeper Class(Non-AC) train fare round trip by submitting their train ticket along with a canceled cheque from their bank account on the day of the Tier 2 exam. The reimbursed amount will be directly transferred to their bank accounts.
Question Paper Format:
For the Assistant Secretary (Administration) exam, the question paper will be structured as follows:
- Part 1: Candidates have to prepare for Current Affairs and General Awareness, covering economics, social and political issues, technological developments, Indian history and culture, and geography.
- Part 2: The paper will include Administrative theories, behaviors, personnel administration, public policy, and administrative reforms-related questions.
- Part 3 This part will cover questions on The Constitution of India, governance, administrative law, ethics, and integrity.
- Part 4: The last part consists of Essay writing, which can be done in either Hindi or English.
The exam will consist of 47 questions worth a total of 320 marks. The word limits for responses vary: 40-mark questions require 300 words, 10-mark questions need 150 words, 5-mark questions call for 75 words, and 2-mark questions ask for brief one-line answers. The exam will be bilingual, and available in both Hindi and English.
