Delhi University Admission Update: Extended Deadline and Upcoming Trials

Delhi University has extended the deadline for submitting preferences for program and college combinations to midnight on August 9, Registrar Vikas Gupta announced on August 7. The registration period for Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) phases I and II, originally set to close on August 7, will remain open until the revised deadline. Gupta stated that the preferences submitted by students will play a crucial role in determining their allocation and admission.
 

Additionally, Gupta recommended to the candidates that they choose as many programs and universities that are likely to be attended, as the deadline would remain the same. The choices entered on the university’s admissions portal will automatically be locked and used to allocate courses and colleges to candidates.

 

According to the University’s admission calendar, the important dates are:
 

  • August 4: Simulated ranks for candidates will be released.
  • August 16: The first CSAS allocation list will be published.
  • August 18: Deadline for candidates to accept their allocated seats.
  • August 20: Deadline for colleges to confirm and approve online applications.
  • August 21: Final date for candidates to pay the online application fee.

 

Furthermore, DU has declared that trials for extracurricular activities and sports supernumerary quotas, as well as performance-based programs like BA (H) Music, are anticipated to start on 12 August. Beginning with the third round of admissions, seats will be assigned for these categories. To elucidate the processes for trials and admissions to extracurricular activities (ECA) and sports supernumerary quotas, Gupta announced that the admission division will hold a webinar on 9 August. At Delhi University, which attracts students from all around the nation, more than 3 lakh candidates have registered for the roughly 71,000 seats that are still available. This extension is not just a technical adjustment but a crucial opportunity for students to make informed decisions in a highly competitive admission process.
