Educational Crisis: FIITJEE's Unexpected Closure Puts Students' Futures at Risk

FIITJEE, or the Forum for the Indian Institute of Technology and Joint Entrance Examination, is a prestigious coaching institute in India. Founded in 1992 by D.K. Goel, FIITJEE aims to provide quality education and training to students aspiring to crack the IIT-JEE, a highly competitive entrance examination for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

However, the sudden closure of multiple FIITJEE branches in Delhi, NCR, and other parts of North India has left students stranded. This unexpected development has prompted parents to file police complaints, demanding refunds for the fees paid. In cities such as Ghaziabad, Noida, Meerut, Varanasi, and Bhopal, parents have expressed their concern, especially with the approaching competitive examinations like the JEE. The abrupt shutdowns have created a sense of uncertainty and panic among students and parents alike.

Vivek Tyagi, president of the Ghaziabad Parents' Association, expressed concern as the peak season for competitive exams approaches. He stated that an FIR had been filed days ago with no response from FIITJEE. Parents in Ghaziabad and Noida, who deposited significant advances, have also filed similar complaints. Avinash Kumar, a Noida-based parent, expressed frustration over FIITJEE's sudden closure, stating he had enrolled his child, only for the institute to shut down. He filed an FIR, accusing the management of fraud and demanding a refund and government intervention.

Similarly, a parent from Patna posted on 'X', addressing the administration and highlighting the negative impact on his daughter's education. He demanded a clear explanation, a full refund, and measures to ensure her education isn't disrupted, mentioning he had also filed a police complaint. The future of affected students remains uncertain as the institution has yet to issue any official statement regarding the closures.
