PhD From Punjab University: "Countdown to Excellence Begins As PU Announces PhD Entrance Exam Date!"

PhD candidates at PU benefit from access to top-notch facilities, interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, and mentorship from leading experts in their fields. The university is soon going to hold an entrance exam for the enrollment of PhD programs across various streams including Arts, Business Management and Commerce, Design & Fine Arts, Engineering, Education, Languages, Laws, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Science. A total of 612 slots are available for PhD at Pu and its affiliated colleges with 30% being at UIET. Out of these 612 seats, 95 are in affiliated colleges and regional centers, while 517 are at Panjab University which includes evening students and its Centre for Distance and Online Education.

 Individuals who have cleared the NET exam are exempted from the entrance test for PhD at Panjab University as well as candidates who have previously passed any national exam to be eligible for lectureships, such as the UGC/CSIR NET, JRF, GATE, CEED, GPAT, ICMR, ICAR, or any other recognised exam for national-level scholarships/fellowships run by the Government of India, will be exempt from the entrance exam.

Important Dates -

 August 9, 2024, is the deadline for submitting information on the website to create a login ID and password. August 11, 2024, is the deadline for paying the fee online. The last date for uploading of photograph,  and signature with the rest of the information on the website is 13 August 2024. On August 22, 2024, candidates who have not finished their form but have paid the required amount can do so by paying a 500 rupee late fee. The entrance exam is scheduled for August 25, 2024, and the answer key will be available on September 16.

How to Apply:

Candidates need to visit the official website Ph.D. Entrance Test 2024 - Panjab University Online Admission (puchd.ac.in) and click on the Online registration link in the Main menu, there's a need to fill in the required information correctly. After this step, candidates have to deposit their application fee by logging into their account and completing the given instructions.
