UOW India Introduces 50% Tuition Waiver for Exceptional Women Pursuing FinTech

With technological advancements, universities are providing updated course materials for students to equip them with essential skills so they can stay ahead of the curve. Aligning to this the University of Wollongong India (UOW India) is excited to announce the Women Leaders in FinTech Scholarship, designed to boost female participation in India’s technology sector. This scholarship is available for those applying to the Master of Financial Technology (FinTech) and MFT (Extension) programs starting in November 2024.

Applying to the course automatically considers students for a 50% tuition fee waiver,  which will be awarded to three outstanding students based on merit. The course curriculum is specifically designed and covers essential topics like blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data analytics, providing students with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving field. This initiative will empower women to take the lead in FinTech and inspire future generations.

Eligibility Criteria for the Women Leaders in FinTech Scholarship:

• Applicants must begin their Master of Financial Technology (FinTech) or its extension program at UOW India in 2024. Students pursuing Graduate Certificate in FinTech are excluded. 
• Students require a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75 or its equivalent to apply for the scholarship and to retain this students must maintain a WAM of 75 or higher in each trimester throughout the two-year program.
• Students note that eligibility is restricted to Indian citizens only.
• Candidates should not be receiving any other scholarships, sponsorships, bursaries, or discounts, except for stipend-based scholarships.
• Full-time enrollment at the UOW India campus is mandatory for students to apply for this scholarship.
• Students will complete this course in a two-year duration and is exclusively available at the Indian campus.

This scholarship provides exciting benefits to the enrolled students such as a 50% tuition fee waiver which is set to apply across the program in three trimesters: 50% off tuition in both Trimester 2 and Trimester 3 and a full 100% waiver in Trimester 4.
