68th National School Games Yogasana Championship: Krittika and Sara Lead U-14 Girls’ Event

Rising Stars of Yoga: Krittika Datta and Sara Sukanth Aggarwal Triumph at National Championship

Yoga, an ancient practice that dates back thousands of years, has its earliest recorded mention in the Rig Veda, an ancient Indian text from around 1500 BC. Recognizing the importance of yogasanas, the 68th National School Games Yogasana U-14 Girls Championship was held on January 10 at St. Joseph’s School in Habsiguda. The event showcased the extraordinary talent and dedication of young yogis from across India.

In the U-14 artistic yoga event, Krittika Datta from Tripura emerged as the champion, securing 23 points, just ahead of Payal Nirmalkar from Chhattisgarh, who scored 22.5 points, and Riddhima Ghosh from West Bengal, who finished with 22 points. In the rhythmic yoga category, Sara Sukanth Aggarwal from New Delhi claimed the top spot with 25 points, followed by Aranya Hutait from West Bengal, who secured second place with 24.5 points, and Niral Wadekar from Maharashtra, who earned third place with 24 points.

The championship served as an inspiration to the next generation of young athletes, highlighting the skill, discipline, and passion required to excel in the art of yoga. It emphasized the importance of nurturing and supporting young talent, paving the way for a bright future in this ancient practice.
