Art serves not only as a form of expression but also as a catalyst for cultural dialogue, innovation, and education. Recognising this, Noida International University’s School of Fine Arts and Design recently hosted the Abhibyakti 2025 Annual Art Exhibition, a prestigious five-day event that brought together artists and students from across the country.
Organised in collaboration with the NIDM Young Minds Workshop, the exhibition offered a vibrant platform for emerging talent, encouraging artistic exploration and creative exchange. Through this initiative, the university reinforced its commitment to nurturing young artists and promoting a rich cultural discourse at the national level. Sixty young artists from across India actively participated in the event, alongside more than 1,000 students who engaged in various artistic and cultural activities. This initiative reinforced the university’s commitment to fostering creative talent and encouraging national-level artistic dialogue.
One of the highlights of the exhibition was the Waste Out of Wonder (WOW) Park, a key environmental art initiative featuring ecological sculptures crafted from recycled materials. Inaugurated by Padma Bhushan awardee Ram V. Sutar and Mr Tutu Patnaik, this innovative display exemplified a fresh approach to waste repurposing. Furthermore, the university formally launched Abhibyakti 2025 in the presence of Padma Bhushan Jatin Das and contemporary artists Mr Chuguli Sahoo, Ms Kavita Nayar, and Mr Tapan Das, providing students with invaluable mentorship, direct interaction, and constructive feedback from leading figures in the Indian art community.
The event also featured interactive school outreach programmes, live demonstrations, student-led installations, cultural performances, and a grand closing ceremony, celebrating both artistic excellence and sustainability-focused creativity. Professor (Dr) Uma Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor of Noida International University, expressed her pride in hosting young artists from across the country, commending the NIDM team for initiating the event and applauding the School of Fine Arts and Design for successfully organising the exhibition on such an impressive scale. A crucial aspect of Abhibyakti 2025 was its art education outreach, with school groups from across Delhi-NCR, including St Thomas School, DAV Noida, and Indirapuram Public School, actively engaging in interactive installations, exhibitions, and hands-on workshops. These activities offered students an enriching and immersive introduction to art and creativity.
Dr Nihar Das, Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Design, extended his gratitude to the senior leadership at Noida International University for their unwavering support of the event. He also acknowledged the NIDM team’s instrumental role in its success. He highlighted Creative Milestones, a key segment that showcased emerging artworks, sparking a national dialogue on creativity as a force for unity, environmental consciousness, and youth empowerment. He further stated that the school plans to establish more innovative platforms for students to exhibit their talents.
The festival culminated in a grand closing ceremony, led by Mr Rahas Mohanty, Deputy Secretary of the Lalit Kala Akademi, alongside renowned modernist painter Mr Asit Patnaik. The final proceedings featured cultural performances, reflections from distinguished dignitaries and mentors, and an awards ceremony recognising student achievements and artistic excellence, bringing the event to a memorable conclusion. Through this initiative, Noida International University reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing artistic talent and promoting cultural innovation at a national level.
