Dev Samaj College of Education's Annual Sports Day Gala Showcases Athletic Excellence and Camaraderie

Dynamic Events and Esteemed Guests Elevate Spirit of Sportsmanship and Community at 38th Annual Celebration

Dev Samaj College of Education (DSCE) celebrated its 38th Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm. The event commenced with the hoisting of the flag by Dr. Agnese Dhillon, Secretary of College Management at Dev Samaj College of Education. Following this, students from various programs including B.Ed., M.Ed., and P.G. Diploma courses participated in a spirited march past, culminating in an oath-taking ceremony where students pledged to uphold the values of sportsmanship.

The day showcased a range of sports demonstrations by the students, featuring track and field events such as the 100-meter race, 50-meter race, relay race, and shot put. Additionally, engaging games like tug of war, lemon spoon race, sack race, chatti race, slow cycling, and more added to the day's excitement.

Mandeep, a B.Ed. student, received the prestigious 'Athlete of the Year' award, while Seema and Vanshika, M.Ed. students, were honored as the 'Best Sports Persons of the Year' for their outstanding representation of the college at national and All India Inter-University levels. Dr. Rakesh Malik, Deputy Director of the Sports Department at Punjab University, Chandigarh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Accompanying him was Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat, an esteemed international sports personality and Principal of I. S. Dev Samaj Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh.

During the event, Dr. Agnese Dhillon, along with the Chief Guest and Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat, felicitated the winners of various competitions and distributed prizes and certificates. Dr. Malik delivered an enlightening speech on the career prospects in sports and emphasized its significance in personal well-being. The festivities concluded with fun-filled games organized for teachers and supporting staff of the college. Dr.Richa Sharma, the officiating principal of DSCE, commended the event organizers and extended her congratulations to the winners and all participating students for epitomizing true sportsmanship.
