Broadridge and LPU Team Up to Transform Higher Education with Emerging Technology Curriculum

LPU and Broadridge Collaborate to Equip Students with Real-World Financial Technology Skills

In a significant move towards enhancing industry-academia collaboration, Broadridge, a leading provider of technology-driven solutions for the financial services sector, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lovely Professional University (LPU). This strategic partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, ensuring that students gain practical skills and real-world exposure, thus becoming more industry-ready.

Through this initiative, both LPU and Broadridge aim to create an interactive learning environment where students can engage with cutting-edge financial technologies and develop expertise aligned with real-world business challenges. This collaboration highlights the critical importance of integrating industry insights into academia, helping to cultivate a workforce that is well-equipped for the evolving demands of the financial sector.

As part of the MoU, Broadridge has launched a structured “Train the Trainer” program. Under this initiative, Broadridge’s Subject Matter Experts will mentor LPU faculty over 80–90 hours across 16–17 weeks, with weekly live sessions. These sessions will include case studies, workshops, assignments, and pre-shared materials, covering topics such as Product Management, Agile and SaFe, DevOps & SRE, Cloud, and Cybersecurity.

Sheenam Ohrie, Managing Director of Broadridge India, emphasised that bridging the gap between academia and industry is crucial for developing future-ready talent. She explained that the partnership with LPU is a significant step in this direction, providing students with real-world exposure and hands-on experience in emerging technologies. By leveraging the expertise of Broadridge’s industry leaders, the initiative seeks to empower educators and help shape a highly skilled workforce. Ohrie further added that this collaboration allows Broadridge to share its knowledge and insights, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

In addition to the program’s structure, Broadridge is working closely with LPU to refine the curriculum based on faculty feedback. Specialised areas such as Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, and Cloud Performance Management are being integrated into the curriculum. This enhanced approach aims to provide students with practical knowledge in financial technology, combining hands-on case studies, industry-led workshops, and interactive Q&A sessions.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated that the collaboration strengthens the university’s Edurevolution initiative, which seeks to transform higher education through practical learning and strong industry integration. He emphasised that the structured faculty training by industry experts ensures students gain not only a solid conceptual foundation but also the contextual understanding needed in the real world. Dr. Mittal highlighted that the overarching goal is to produce graduates who are not only technically skilled but also adaptable and purpose-driven, ready to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving professional landscape.

Upon completion of the training program, faculty members will receive certificates of completion. Following this, they will lead a bootcamp in June and July 2025 to equip the 2026 graduating class with industry-relevant skills by August 2025. Looking ahead, LPU plans to integrate these specialised topics into its B.Tech curriculum starting in 2027. As part of the Open Minor program, students will be able to choose one elective course per semester starting from their fifth semester, thus ensuring that these emerging technologies are embedded into their academic journey. The collaboration between Broadridge and LPU sets a strong foundation for industry-aligned education, equipping students with the skills needed to excel in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
