Application Process for CGBSE Second Main Exam Begins on 20 May 2025

CGBSE Introduces Second Exam Opportunity for Academic Improvement

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), Raipur, has officially announced the schedule for its second main board examination for Class 10 and Class 12 students. This examination offers students an additional opportunity to enhance their academic performance and achieve better results.

According to the official notification, the application process for the second main examination will commence on 20 May 2025. Students may submit their applications without incurring a late fee until 10 June 2025. However, after this deadline, additional charges will apply. A late fee will be imposed for applications submitted between 11 June and 20 June, while a special late fee will be applicable for those submitting applications between 21 June and 30 June 2025. This structured timeline ensures students have sufficient time to complete the application process while adhering to the necessary deadlines. The CGBSE has also clarified that students who appeared for the first main examination are eligible to apply for the second exam. Regular students must submit their applications via their respective schools, whereas Credit Scheme students are required to apply through their forwarding institutions.

The Class 12 examinations were conducted from 1 March to 28 March, while the Class 10 examinations took place between 3 March and 24 March. The results were officially announced on 7 May, revealing a pass percentage of 81.87% for Class 12 and 76.53% for Class 10. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which advocates for two board examinations per academic year to provide students with increased opportunities for academic improvement. Furthermore, all students who took the first examination, whether they passed, failed, or wish to improve their scores, are eligible for the second exam. This supplementary examination serves as a crucial opportunity for students to enhance their academic achievements and maximise their potential.

Editor's Note:

The second main board examination conducted by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) is an essential opportunity for students aiming to improve their academic performance. It allows those who passed, failed, or wish to enhance their scores to take another attempt, ensuring they have the best possible results to support their higher education or career aspirations. Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises offering students multiple opportunities for academic success, this examination aims to reduce stress and support holistic learning. By allowing an additional attempt, it reinforces the belief that education is a continuous journey and that a single exam should not define a student’s potential.

Skoobuzz encourages students to view this as a chance for growth, self-improvement, and a step toward achieving their academic goals with confidence and resilience.
