Chandigarh University Improved on 11 Key Performance Indicators in QS Asia Rankings 2025

Chandigarh University, an autonomous institution approved by UGC, is the youngest university in India and the only private university in Punjab to receive a NAAC A+ grade, placing it among the top 5% of Indian universities. The university offers over 109 UG and PG programs across various fields, including engineering, management, pharmacy, law, and more. It has also been recognized by WCRC for having the best placements.
The QS Asia University Rankings 2025 recently featured 22 Indian universities out of 984 Asian universities, with six securing a place in the top 100. On November 8, 2024, Chandigarh University made a remarkable leap in the academic world, securing the 120th spot in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025, improving by 29 positions from the previous year. In the rankings, CU ranked 2nd in both International Faculty and Student Ratios, while its position in the International Research Network improved significantly, rising 21 places from 52nd to 31st.
Additionally, its overall score in the QS Asia Rankings improved by 62%, rising from 32.3 in 2024 to 52.5 in 2025. These impressive rankings highlight the university’s stellar performance, placing it 1st among all private universities in India and advancing to 11th position overall among all public and private universities in the country. The university’s excellence is reflected in its strong performance across 11 key performance indicators, including Employer Reputation, International Faculty Ratio, Research Network, and Faculty-Student Ratio. CU notably improved its Academic Reputation, rising to 13th place in 2025 from 14th in 2024, with a significant increase in its score from 28.6 to 54.2. Chandigarh University also holds ABET accreditation for its engineering programs, ranking it among the top 0.1% of Indian universities with globally recognized degrees. It offers cutting-edge programs in areas like AI, Blockchain, Machine Learning, and more, developed in collaboration with industry leaders.
The university has a strong research output, with over 14,700 publications and more than 4,300 patents filed. Its international presence is notable, with 1,300 visiting faculty members, including 560 research network scholars, and over 3,000 international students from 65 countries. CU allocates Rs 15 crore annually for research projects, with an additional Rs 52 crore in funding from government bodies and corporate partnerships. Research activities are conducted both within individual departments and at the University Centre for Research & Development, supported by 60 research centres on campus. Its 550 global collaborations enhance students' academic and research opportunities and in Employer Reputation, CU ranked 5th, jumping its score from 68.8 in 2024 to 90.5 in 2025. The university also received 9,124 job offers in 2023-24, with a top salary package of Rs. 1.74 crore.
