Cornell Tech Hosts Series of Events Highlighting Cutting-Edge Research and Startups

Cornell Tech has announced a series of events throughout May designed to celebrate its vibrant campus culture and deep commitment to innovation. A key highlight of the series will be the 13th annual Startup Awards + Open Studio event, scheduled for May 16. During this event, up to five student teams will be recognised, each receiving a $100,000 investment award, along with access to studio space and ongoing mentorship on campus. Since the awards' inception in 2015, 42 student teams have received this prestigious recognition, marking a strong tradition of supporting entrepreneurial excellence.

Greg Morrisett, the Jack and Rilla Neafsey Dean and Vice Provost at Cornell Tech, expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming guests from around the city and across the globe. Adding to the prestige of the Startup Awards, Cornell alumnus Andrew Ross Sorkin—a columnist for The New York Times, author, producer, and co-anchor of CNBC’s Squawk Box—will serve as a jury member. He is set to participate in the selection and announcement of the winning teams, underscoring the event’s significance within the entrepreneurial and tech communities.
