CUH Launches National Seminar on Indian Knowledge Systems in Commerce and Management

Unveiling India's Intellectual Heritage: Exploring the Indian Knowledge System in Commerce and Management

A two-day national seminar focusing on the Indian Knowledge System in Commerce and Management commenced at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh. Organized in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), the inaugural session of the seminar witnessed esteemed guests including Professor Prafulla Y Agnihotri, Director of Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, as the chief guest. Special guests, including Prof. R.K. Mittal, Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU), and Prof. R.K. Anayat, former Vice Chancellor of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, graced the occasion.

Professor Pawan Sharma from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, served as the keynote speaker. The Vice Chancellor of CUH, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, presided over the inaugural session, with Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushma Yadav and other dignitaries in attendance.

During his address, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar emphasized the crucial role of youth in India's development and urged them to delve into ancient knowledge traditions. Chief guest Prof. Prafulla Y Agnihotri shed light on the rich Indian knowledge tradition, urging youth to explore ancient texts like the Vedas. Prof. RK Mittal and Prof. RK Anayat also shared insights on the importance of Indian small-scale industries and the significance of Indian knowledge tradition, respectively.

Professor Sharma highlighted the impact of British rule on the Indian education system and praised the recent emphasis on indigenous knowledge in the National Education Policy 2020. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sushma Yadav emphasized the importance of understanding the Indian knowledge tradition for building a developed India.

The seminar, which began with the lighting of the lamp, saw Dr. Rajendra Meena welcoming guests, experts, and participants. Organizing Secretary Dr. Sunita Tanwar outlined the seminar's agenda and emphasized its significance. Dean of the School of Business and Management Studies, Professor Ranjan Aneja, highlighted the seminar's objective and its alignment with the National Education Policy.

The event, moderated by Professor Nand Kishore, concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Divya, co-convenor of the seminar. Notable attendees included Prof. Anand Sharma, Prof. Rajiv Kaushik, Prof. Ashish Mathur, Dr. Kamaraj, Dr. Suman, Dr. Ravindra Kaur, Dr. Bhushan, and Dr. Ajay Kumar.
