Innovative Solutions Emerge from EvoLUMIN Hackathon Across Healthcare, Agriculture, and SDGs
Over 400 Teams Compete in 36-Hour EvoLUMIN Hackathon at Amrita University

The EvoLUMIN National Hackathon is a renowned national tech event organized by the ACM Student Chapter at Amritapuri, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. This hackathon brings together some of the brightest minds from across India to innovate and develop impactful solutions for real-world challenges. Participants can compete in Healthcare, Agriculture, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Hosted by the Amrita School of Computing in collaboration with the campus ACM Student Chapter, Amrita Create, Dallasec, and Devfolio, the hackathon attracted university students across India. In the recent event, 400 teams participated nationwide, with the top 50 selected to participate in a demanding 36-hour final round.
Dr. Prema Nedungadi, Associate Dean of the Amrita School of Computing, inaugurated the event, joined by notable faculty members including Brahmachari Vishwanatha Amrita Chaitanya, Head of CIR; Dr. S. N. Jyothi, Associate Dean of the School of Engineering; Dr. Jyotish J. Nair, Vice Principal of the School of Computing; Dr. M. Geetha, Chair of the CS Artificial Intelligence Department; Assistant Professor P. K. Binu; and Student Coordinator M. Akhil Menon.
An expert panel evaluated the projects and announced the winners, who received awards totaling ₹1.5 lakh and certificates of excellence. Teams from Amrita University, Sri Venkateswara University, and Government Engineering College, Aurangabad, secured the top honors. Special guests Cyril Sebastian, K. S. Rishikesh, and N. S. Dhanvanth presented the awards to the winning teams. In the SDG track, M. Abhinav, V. S. Aman, M. G. Hridesh, and Gautham Mohanraj from Amrita University took first place. The Agriculture track was dominated by Afroze Muhammed, Supriya Reddy Mukkamala, and Swanit Kumar Reddy from Sri Venkateswara University, while the Healthcare track was won by Saiesh Sharma and Himanshu Mishra from Government Engineering College, Aurangabad.
This hackathon provides a platform for students to showcase their technical skills, collaborate, and drive social impact through innovative problem-solving. By blending competition with a commitment to social good, the EvoLUMIN National Hackathon highlights the role of young leaders in shaping a better future.
