The University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is excited to announce the upcoming Film Scoring Summit, scheduled for April 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with check-in beginning at 9:30 AM. This esteemed event is tailored for rising 10th-12th grade students, and due to limited capacity, early free registration is strongly encouraged to secure a spot in this transformative experience. For participants under the age of 18, it is required that a parent or guardian accompany them.
As a renowned institution for its excellence in music education, CCM is committed to offering young, aspiring musicians a unique opportunity to explore the intricate world of film scoring. Under the expert guidance of Professor Jasmine Guo, attendees will engage in a comprehensive exploration of scoring techniques and the artistry behind creating compelling musical narratives for film. The event will also offer an exclusive insight into CCM’s prestigious Commercial Music Production (CMP) program.

CCM’s Bachelor of Music degree in Commercial Music Production (CMP) offers a comprehensive education in professional commercial music studies. The program combines essential training in music theory, composition, arranging, and musicianship with hands-on instruction in recording studio techniques, commercial music, and media technologies. While the degree encompasses music production, editing, business, and studio technical training, it is crucial to note that it is a music degree, not focused on music technology, the music industry, or audio/recording. Successful applicants to the CMP program are expected to possess substantial musical training and expertise. Furthermore, the CMP degree integrates a Minor in Entrepreneurship from UC’s Lindner College of Business, emphasizing entrepreneurial business skills. This distinctive combination provides graduates with a dynamic educational experience and access to a wide range of meaningful career opportunities within the music industry.
