Manav Rachna & AIU Join Forces to Host Prestigious FISU World Championship in New Delhi
FISU World University Championship Shooting Lands in India for the First Time in 2024

The FISU World University Championship Shooting is a renowned international event that provides a platform for athletes worldwide to compete in various shooting disciplines. In 2024, India will host the championship for the first time in New Delhi, from November 9 to 13. Over 250 student-athletes from more than 25 countries, along with a 33-member Indian team, will participate in the event. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is organizing the championship, with the Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies (MRIIRS) serving as the host. The competition will take place at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, with the opening ceremony scheduled for November 8 at the Manav Rachna campus. Athletes will compete in a variety of shooting disciplines, including rifle, pistol, and shotgun events.
The event will feature several categories, including the 10m Air Rifle, 50m Rifle 3 Position, Trap, and Skeet. Olympic events such as the 10m Air Pistol (for both men and women), Mixed Team events in Trap and Skeet, and the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol will also be showcased. Manav Rachna reaffirms its commitment to developing future sports champions and empowering the next generation of athletes by hosting this eminent championship.
The competition will also feature top international athletes, including Paris Olympic bronze medalist Audrey Gogniat from Switzerland and world record holder Anna Janssen from Germany. Alongside them, emerging Indian Olympians such as Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Sift Kaur Samra will compete. With a mix of established world champions and rising stars, the championship aims to inspire the next generation of athletes through a display of exceptional talent and dedication.
AIU President Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak welcomed international athletes and officials to the FISU World University Championship, expressing gratitude to Manav Rachna and its partners for their support. Eder also highlighted that the event would engage audiences worldwide and underscore FISU’s commitment to providing a world-class experience for university athletes.
