The Global University Employability Ranking 2025, published by the French consultancy Emerging in collaboration with Times Higher Education (THE), evaluates universities based on their ability to produce highly employable graduates. As assessed by international employers, this ranking includes 250 universities from 42 countries, with employers worldwide casting their votes for institutions both within their own countries and abroad. Supported by global recruiters, the ranking highlights universities that excel in preparing students with the skills and professional experience sought after by leading companies.
IIT Delhi is the only university from India to feature in the global top 50, securing the 28th position. Other Indian institutions listed in the ranking include the Indian Institute of Science (47th), IIT Bombay (60th), IIT Kharagpur (141st), IIM Ahmedabad (160th), IIT Madras (214th), Delhi University (219th), Amity University (225th), Anna University (237th), and Bangalore University (249th). These numbers mark the increasing presence of Indian universities at the global level.
The top 10 universities in this year’s ranking are led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, followed by the California Institute of Technology and Stanford University in second and third places, respectively. Harvard University ranks fourth, while the University of Cambridge holds the fifth spot. Other notable institutions in the top 10 include Princeton University (6th), University of Oxford (7th), University of Tokyo (8th), National University of Singapore (9th), and Imperial College London (10th). These universities are known for equipping graduates with the skills and experience required to succeed in the global job market.
Countries such as France, Germany, and China have strong representation in the ranking, with universities from these nations consistently ranking high in terms of graduate employability. The United States and the United Kingdom dominate the list, while Singapore, Japan, and Switzerland also contribute to the global spread of top institutions offering strong pathways to employment. The 2025 university employability report, highlights the increasing importance of universities not only providing academic excellence but also ensuring that students gain the professional skills necessary to thrive in today’s competitive job market. This ranking emphasizes the need for institutions to equip graduates with the expertise and experience that top employers value.
