Mark Your Calendars: HP University to Host Major Youth Festival and Sports Championship

HP University Announces Exciting Sports and Cultural Calendar for 2024-25 Session

Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, has announced its most awaited schedule for the Inter-College Youth Festival and Inter-College Championship for the 2024-25 session. The university made the calendar official for various sports and cultural competitions during the second day of the 52nd Annual General Meeting of the University Sports and Co-Curricular Activities Council. The festival is set to run from September 27 to December 13, with the Youth Festival specifically occurring from October 2 to November 22.

 

Here’s a breakdown of the events for the Youth Festival:

Group-I (Creativity): This will be held from October 2-4 at Government College, Bilaspur

Group-II (Music): This activity will commence from October 21-23 at Government College, Karsog, Mandi district

Group-III (Dance): Participants can take part in this activity from November 12-14 at Gautam Groups of College, Hamirpur

Group-IV (Theatre): This activity will set the stage from November 20-22 at Government College, Kullu

 

This year's festival promises a diverse range of activities, highlighting the university's commitment to fostering creativity and cultural engagement among students. In addition to the Youth Festival, Himachal Pradesh University will also host various sports events as part of the Inter-College Championships. The first event where the athletic talents of students from different colleges across the region will be showcased is  scheduled under the following dates:

Athletics (Men’s and Women’s): This event is going to be held from November 26-28 at Government College, Hamirpur

Hockey (Men’s): The audience can enjoy a thrilling match of Hockey from October 14-16 at Government College, Paonta Sahib

Hockey (Women’s): This event is going to occur from October 22-24 at Government College, Chamba

 

In addition to these exciting matches the next event which will be scheduled from October 22 to November 6, will show the physical and mental prowess of various participants. The following events are planned to spellbound the viewers:

Volleyball (Men’s): This match will held at Government College, Seema, Rohru, from October 22 to 25

Chess (Men’s and Women’s): The brain game between students will be held at Government College, Sujanpur Tira, from October 14 to 16

Wushu (Men’s and Women’s): Here students will showcase their mind and body coordination power, this will be organized at Government College, Mandi, from November 20 to 22

Kho-Kho (Men’s): Students will work in teams and this will be organized at Government College, Hamirpur, from November 4 to 6

Football: This game will be held at Government College, Dhaliara, Kangra district, from November 7 to 10

 

In the series of events various other games will be organized where students will showcase team spirit, and their physical and mental strength, the list of games is as mentioned:

Shooting (Men’s and Women’s): Government College, Nalagarh, from October 14 to 16

Judo (Men’s and Women’s): Government College, Rajgarh, from November 12 to 14

Handball (Men’s and Women’s): MLSM, Sundernagar, from November 12 to 14

Table Tennis (Men’s and Women’s): Government College, Jukhala, Bilaspur district, from November 12 to 14

Wrestling (Men’s and Women’s): Government College, Nurpur, Kangra district, from November 19 to 21

Badminton (Men’s): Government College, Chaura Maidan, Shimla, from November 11 to 13

Taekwondo (Men’s and Women’s): Government College, Amb, Una district, from November 11 to 13

Weight Lifting (Women’s): Government College, Nadaun, from November 10 to 12

Weight Lifting (Men’s): Government College, Indora, from November 28 to 29

Boxing (Men’s): Government College, Daulatpur Chowk, Una, from December 10 to 13
