IIT Kanpur’s SATHEE IBPS Expands Access to Quality Banking Exam Resources

Personalized Learning for Future Bankers, SATHEE IBPS Started by IIT Kanpur

Each year, around 500,000 candidates apply for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) exams, striving to secure positions in some of India’s premier banks. In 2023, the IBPS PO exam offered just 3,049 vacancies, underscoring the highly competitive nature of the selection process. The challenging nature of these exams, combined with the high volume of applicants, means that only a small fraction of candidates achieve success. This competitive environment drives many to seek out additional resources and support, such as the recently launched SATHEE IBPS program by IIT Kanpur, which aims to provide targeted preparation tools and personalized support to help students stand out in this rigorous selection process.
The Indian Institute of Technology, renowned for its academic excellence, has added another accolade to its prestigious reputation with the launch of "SATHEE IBPS." This innovative program is designed to assist candidates in preparing for banking exams administered by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

This program, supported by the Ministry of Education, aims to provide high-quality educational resources to aspiring students across India. Those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and isolated places receive special attention, ensuring that all have access to high-quality learning materials. The students need not pay high tuition fees to prepare for these banking examinations.  SATHEE IBPS provides a wealth of study materials specifically designed for the IBPS Clerk exam, with plans to expand its resources to include additional IBPS exams in the future. Candidates can register for the SATHEE IBPS program by visiting the official website at ibps.iitk.ac.in or by downloading the SATHEE app from the App Store or Google Play.
Leveraging technological advancements, the program offers in-depth video lectures from IIT professors, access to forums for doubt-clearing and problem-solving, and tools for self-assessment. Students can test their knowledge and use detailed analytics to track their progress and identify areas for improvement.

Professor Manindra Agrawal, the Director of IIT Kanpur, emphasized that the launch of SATHEE IBPS reaffirmed their commitment to democratizing elite education. He highlighted that the program showcased their proactive use of technology to empower students nationwide, preparing them not only for exams but also for future success, in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020. Professor Amey Karkare, the Principal Investigator of the project, mentioned that SATHEE IBPS featured an AI-powered tutoring system. This system offered an organized and personalized learning experience, tailored to meet the specific needs of each student. Shri Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education, stated that the SATHEE IBPS platform was created to bridge the digital divide by building an inclusive educational environment that helped aspirants achieve their goals regardless of geography or economic restrictions.

Editor’s Note:

The Minister of State for Education announced the launch of the SATHEE (Self-Assessment, Test, and Help for Entrance Examination) portal, developed in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. This portal aims to provide quality educational resources for students preparing for exams like JEE, NEET, and state-level engineering tests earlier and now SATHEE IBPS is significantly helping students prepare for banking exams. The app is an AI-based translation tool that supports 22 Indian languages to enhance accessibility.  The launch of SATHEE IBPS by IIT Kanpur is a significant step towards making high-quality exam preparation accessible to all students, regardless of location or financial status. By utilizing advanced technology and paying attention to inclusivity, this program aligns with the goals of the National Education Policy 2020, which seeks to democratize education and provide equitable opportunities for success.

Skoobuzz applauds the innovative efforts of IIT Kanpur and the Ministry of Education in developing this new approach to support students preparing for competitive exams.
