Learn from Experts with IIT Madras’ Online Certificate Programs

Indian Institute of Technology Madras introduced The "IITM School Connect" program, which offers two certificate courses in "Electronic Systems" and "Data Science and Artificial Intelligence" specifically for school students. These four to eight-week certification courses were designed by expert professors of  IIT Madras.

The program will be taught in online mode and provide class 11 and 12 students with practical work experience to boost their career prospects. Interested students can be part of this program by registering at the official website school-connect.study.iitm.ac.in. The next batch of these introductory-level courses will begin on October 21, 2024, and registration opens on September 16. Students will have to apply before October 4 to be a part of this opportunity, as upon completing the course IIT-M will issue certificates to eligible students.

500 schools, already partnered with IIT-M for this initiative and over 11,000 have benefited from the previous batch of this course. The key highlights of this program include recorded lecture videos, practical training, in-person encounters, homework, and computer-based certification exams.

IIT Madras Dean of Academic Courses Prof. Prathap Haridoss appreciated students for creating autonomous remote-controlled robots. He mentioned that the Data Science course students have been engaged in practical projects that involve extracting datasets to get significant insights. He underlined that by exposing students to a variety of subjects, these kinds of courses aid in their identification of interests and skills.
