The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a highly respected academic pathway for students aged 16 to 19. Known for its rigorous structure, the programme requires learners to study six subjects across varied disciplines, while also completing a Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course, an Extended Essay, and fulfilling Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) requirements. Through this comprehensive framework, students develop key skills such as critical thinking, global awareness, and independent learning, attributes that are essential for university success and life beyond the classroom. Consequently, schools offering the IBDP often emphasise holistic development and encourage students to explore diverse cultural perspectives. This prepares them to thrive in international and competitive academic environments.
In light of this, Indus International School, Hyderabad, recently celebrated the remarkable success of its 2025 IBDP cohort. Among the many achievements, the school gave special recognition to Anya Rao Polasani, who attained a perfect score of 45 out of 45, an exceptionally rare accomplishment. Globally, only around 0.1% of IB candidates reach this milestone, and in the May 2025 examinations, out of over 202,000 students, just 200 achieved the highest possible score.
Anya’s success is a testament to her unwavering dedication and academic capability, and also to the school’s commitment to fostering a future-focused and innovative learning environment. School leaders commended her resilience and highlighted the institution’s ethos, which cultivates critical thinking, creativity, and global citizenship. In addition to Anya’s achievement, 11 other students from Indus Hyderabad scored above 40 points, underscoring the depth of academic support and a strong culture of excellence. Through initiatives such as StartupYou, the Innovation Curriculum, and the Community Kitchen, the school actively promotes leadership, social responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset among students.
With a favourable student-teacher ratio of 6:1 and a consistent record of placements in top universities across the UK, USA, Canada, and other global destinations, Indus Hyderabad continues to distinguish itself as one of the leading IB institutions in the region. The IBDP outcomes for 2025 demonstrate the individual brilliance of our students, alongside the enduring strength of Indus International School's academic philosophy and dedication to fostering globally aware young leaders.
