International College in Uruguay Becomes Part of Nord Anglia’s Global Network

Transforming Education: Nord Anglia Welcomes Uruguay’s International College

On April 28, 2025, Nord Anglia Education announced that International College in Punta del Este, Uruguay, had joined its global network, marking its first school in Uruguay and its 14th in Latin America. Founded in 2017, International College is regarded as one of Uruguay’s top private institutions, serving 550 students aged 2 to 18 through a bilingual curriculum combining the national program, IGCSE, and IB. The 50,000 m² campus offers extensive facilities, including sports courts, science labs, a library, technology suites, and an artificial football pitch. Head of School Mark Rosevear highlighted that joining Nord Anglia aligns with the school’s mission to deliver world-class international education in Uruguay, opening new opportunities for families in Punta del Este.

Andrew Fitzmaurice, CEO of Nord Anglia Education, welcomed International College to the network and praised its rapid growth as a leading school in Uruguay. He outlined plans to enhance the school’s offerings through global partnerships, educator development, and research aimed at fostering confident and resilient learners. Additionally, the school is set to benefit from partnerships with organisations such as UNICEF, Juilliard, MIT, and IMG Academy, providing transformative experiences in social impact, performing arts, STEAM, and wellbeing.

International College students will gain access to Nord Anglia's Global Campus platform, enabling worldwide collaboration and participation in exclusive experiences, including expeditions to Tanzania and Switzerland, as well as regional sports and arts events. Furthermore, students will benefit from global research into metacognition, designed to help them understand how they learn best and adapt their thinking for success in diverse learning environments.

The school’s 190 staff members will join Nord Anglia's global network of over 19,000 educators, gaining access to international collaboration, professional development opportunities through Nord Anglia University, and exclusive programs such as the Executive Master’s in International Education offered in partnership with King’s College London. Nord Anglia Education’s expansion reflects its commitment to delivering transformative education and fostering global opportunities for students and educators alike.
