Rising Stars Shine at IPSC U-17 Girls Football Tournament 2025

Unbeaten VDJS Clinch Title with 5–0 Win Over BBVP in IPSC Final

Promoting athletic excellence and empowering young sportswomen, the All India IPSC U-17 Girls Football Tournament 2025 brought together some of the most promising school-level football teams from across the country. Organised by SelaQui International School in Dehradun, the tournament not only fostered a spirit of healthy competition but also highlighted the rising standard of girls’ football in India.

Held from 28 June to 3 July, the event provided a vibrant platform for participants to demonstrate remarkable teamwork and emerging talent. Throughout the week, matches were characterised by energy, discipline, and enthusiasm. Ultimately, Vidya Devi Jindal School (VDJS), Hisar, secured the championship title with a commanding 5–0 victory over Birla Balika Vidyapeeth (BBVP), Pilani, in the final match, thus concluding a dynamic and memorable week of football.

The tournament, conducted on SelaQui’s main football ground, featured five top IPSC schools: VDJS, BBVP, Mayo College Girls’ School (Ajmer), Pinegrove School (Dharampur), and Kittur Rani Channamma Residential Sainik School (Karnataka). According to organisers, players consistently displayed both skill and sportsmanship in the league-cum-knockout format, thereby enhancing excitement and school spirit. VDJS dominated the tournament, remaining unbeaten and scoring 38 goals without conceding any. Notably, Nishita Dewli led the team with 13 goals, earning the Golden Boot. Meanwhile, BBVP also impressed, with Unnati Singh Chandel being named Most Valuable Player.

In the third-place match, Pinegrove School, led by Karma Norkit, defeated Mayo College 7–0. Although Kittur Rani Channamma School did not progress beyond the league stage, they made a commendable debut and were awarded the Fair Play Trophy for their positive spirit. Furthermore, the tournament recognised individual excellence: Drishti Bansal (BBVP) received the Golden Glove for goalkeeping; Karma Norkit (Pinegrove) was named Emerging Player; Nishita Dewli (VDJS) secured the Golden Boot; and Unnati Singh Chandel (BBVP) was honoured as the Most Valuable Player.

During the closing ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Ankur Agarwal, a respected Indian Army officer and ardent supporter of youth sports, commended the players for their dedication and encouraged them to uphold integrity and excellence in their athletic pursuits. The IPSC U-17 Girls Football Team, which will represent IPSC schools at the SGFI National School Games, was announced after the event. The final standings were as follows: Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar – champions; Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani – runners-up; Pinegrove School, Dharampur – third place; Mayo College Girls’ School, Ajmer – fourth place; and Kittur Rani Channamma Residential Sainik School, Karnataka, recipients of the Fair Play Award. The tournament celebrated sporting excellence and reaffirmed the growing strength and spirit of girls’ football in India.
