Indian Team’s Success at World School Games Highlights ISSO’s Growing Influence

JBCN International School Athletes to Represent India at ISF Gymnasiade 2024

The International Schools Sports Organization (ISSO) promotes sports in international curriculum schools across India, offering students opportunities to compete nationally and internationally. ISSO nurtures athletic talent and builds a strong sports culture, helping students showcase their skills. Its affiliations with the International Schools Sports Federation (ISF) and the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) provide athletes with valuable platforms to compete globally.

The ISSO National Games 2024-25 took place from September to November, and 270 schools participated in this prominent event, highlighting the extensive involvement and competitive spirit cultivated by ISSO. The event witnessed thrilling competition across a wide range of sports, including Swimming, Gymnastics, Taekwondo, U14 Boys' Cricket, High Jump, Long Jump, Hurdles, Shot Put, and Relay Race, among others.

Several athletes from JBCN International School excelled in the events, and four students were selected to represent India at the International School Sport Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade 2024 in Bahrain, scheduled for October 23 to 31. Kunal Dalal, Managing Director of JBCN Education, expressed pride in the learners' performance at the ISSO Games, highlighting their dedication, resilience, and teamwork. He congratulated all participants, noting their efforts brought great pride to the community. At the World School Games, organized by the World Olympic Organization, the Indian team of 170 athletes and officials made a strong impression among nearly 10,000 competitors from over 80 countries. The team secured a gold in archery, five taekwondo medals (silver and bronze), and a bronze in karate.

Jagdeep Singh, Strategic Collaboration Director of ISSO India, highlighted the organization’s growth and achievements, expressing excitement about the milestone year. He reaffirmed ISSO's commitment to empowering young athletes and emphasized the focus on making sports an enriching experience for all. ISSO’s vision is cultivating a vibrant sports ecosystem, nurturing talent, and inspiring future champions. The ISSO will continue to play a pivotal role in fostering sports excellence among students in international curriculum schools across India.
