Kabarak University Teams Earn Global Recognition at CICSIC 2025 Regional Finals
Student Innovators from Kabarak Win Big at China-Africa Innovation Challenge

As global academic collaboration continues to flourish, African universities are increasingly engaging with international platforms that foster innovation and entrepreneurship. In this spirit, Kabarak University participated in the Africa Regional Finals of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (CICSIC) 2025 – Africa Division, held on 25 July 2025 at the Argyle Grand Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.
The event, widely recognised as prestigious, convened top student innovators from across the continent. It was jointly organised by Nanjing Agricultural University (China), Kabarak University, Egerton University, and the Kenya Chinese Youth, thereby demonstrating a robust commitment to cross-border academic exchange and collaborative innovation. Concurrently, a corresponding sub-venue was hosted at Nanjing Agricultural University, further underscoring the competition’s international scope and integrative spirit.
During the finals, Kabarak University’s four student teams, LifeTrack, RespiraMate, Mkulima Hub, and ResQNode, were recognised for their inventive, real-world solutions, earning Silver and Bronze Awards. In addition to these accolades, the teams received cash prizes in honour of their creativity and technical excellence. Notably, Vice-Chancellor Professor Henry Kiplangat, who attended as Chief Guest, reaffirmed the university’s dedication to fostering innovation and global academic engagement. Moreover, the university extended its congratulations to the student teams and expressed sincere appreciation to faculty mentors and event organisers for their pivotal contributions to the competition’s success. This achievement stands as a testament to Kabarak University’s unwavering commitment to nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship, and student-led research on the global stage.
